DescriptionThis pivotal session, guided by Sarrah Sammoon's seasoned expertise in global mobility, tackles the unspoken complexities of passport privilege and immigration due diligence in talent mobility. Focusing on an advanced audience, it addresses the silent yet critical factor of passport rankings—how they affect visa issuance and the movement of skilled individuals. This discussion is essential for HR and mobility professionals who face the intricacies of hiring talent required to travel internationally. Beyond assessing talent based on skills and compliance, we introduce the concept of an "Immigration Due Diligence Profile," a vital step that examines a candidate's immigration history, including potential legal obstacles and visa risks associated with lower-ranking passports. In a world where passport power varies widely, this session underscores the need for robust due diligence processes, ensuring that mobility decisions are informed, compliant, and truly inclusive.

Providing services to the Federal government may seem a bit obscure, complex, and spoken in acronyms. This session will take the mystery out of how the Federal government buys relocation services and how agencies leverage the General Services Administration’s Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) and the Centralized Household Goods Traffic Management Program (CHAMP). DescriptionIt’s been a challenging few years, between a global pandemic, supply chain disruption, political discord and conflicts, and economic upheaval. Through it all, people have worked, moved, changed jobs, acquired new skills, and continued to innovate and add value. Now, as companies review and reset their talent management priorities for the opportunities and challenges ahead, we need to review how mobility management services can be optimized to ensure our mission of ‘talent everywhere’ is met. With the promise of AI becoming a reality, we have an unprecedented opportunity to provide personalized service at scale…to both take cost out and add value into the mobility process. Is the optimal model for mobility management self-service or expert support? Are policies and services focused not only on simplifying and streamlining the customer experience, and putting more ownership for the outcome on the customer, but also on ensuring the customer (i.e. the global talent) sees the experience as a positive differentiator and signal that their talent is valued. We want to review what defines a successful relocation. How can we improve our access to customer facts and feedback in order work better together to accelerate our improvements and solutions innovation? This conversation will look at supporting talent mobility as a strategic priority and how to align our shared commitment to getting the right people to the right place at the right time with a shared understanding of the right services, delivered in the right formats, at the right price. Expect a lively, guided conversation with industry leaders and disruptors about how to balance stakeholder expectations for service, innovation, duty of care, accelerated technology deployment, lowered costs, and increased data security. Demographics tell us the war for talent will only get more intense and talent mobility will be ever more essential to business outcomes. In this discussion and its follow up, we’ll be preparing ourselves for strategically designed and well executed mobility solutions that will make it easier for global talent to say yes to opportunities.

The year 2030 is fast approaching, and with it, a host of challenges and opportunities for global mobility. How might the policy landscape change in the next half decade, and what could it mean for talent management, cost containment, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals? How might technological innovations, such as artificial intelligence (AI), transform the way we deliver and consume mobility services? How could geopolitical factors, such as immigration laws and emerging markets, affect the demand and supply of global talent? And most importantly, how might we prepare for the future and design a global mobility policy that is fit for 2030?
In this interactive roundtable session, led by Cartus and industry experts, you will learn about the (possible) future of global mobility while also having the opportunity to participate in the discussion, share your own experiences and perspectives, and learn from your peers. Together, we will explore the following topics:
• Talent engagement: How might we leverage global mobility to attract, retain, and develop diverse and flexible talent pools? How would we balance the needs and preferences of different generations, locations, and skill sets, ensuring everyone feels included?
• Geopolitical factors: How might we navigate the complex and dynamic immigration and tax regulations across different jurisdictions? How could we mitigate the risks and seize the opportunities of emerging markets and adapt to the changing political and economic scenarios in the post-pandemic world?
• ESG: How might we achieve our sustainability and social responsibility goals through global mobility? How could we reduce our carbon footprint and offset our emissions?
• Technological tools: How might we leverage AI and other digital solutions to enhance the efficiency, quality, and user experience of our mobility services and harness data and analytics to optimize our mobility decisions and outcomes for the future? How could we also ensure the security and privacy of our mobility data?
Based on the roundtable feedback, we will present a consolidated summary of what attendees believe a global mobility policy in 2030 might look like. You will leave this session with a clearer vision of one possible future of global mobility and some practical ideas on how to prepare for it.

DescriptionIn this discussion we will reveal in an interactive way the results of our recent global survey.
The Survey focussed on GM and HR (who manage GM work within their role), in order to better understand the areas of opportunity to transform their contribution, the effectiveness of the GM function within their organisations and to enhance the wellbeing of GM professionals.
The research has been commissioned by Expatise Academy in response to feedback from their Global Mobility members, that many are faced with increasingly challenging environments in supporting their organization’s mobility program.
Why has this Survey has been initiated by GM leaders?
· Expatise Academy chair a Platform Multinationals (Netherlands/Belgium) Global Mobility network members group and they have commissioned this research.
· Over the past two years, members have reported a significant increase in requests by their organisations and employees for cross-border remote working from anywhere.
· This has significantly increased GM’s workload complexity and volumes. In parallel, other pressures on GM have been growing compliance scrutiny, ongoing budget constraints, cost control, speed of response, and demands for sustainable mobility and international talent/expatriate wellbeing.
· It is the perception that these changes and challenges are not exclusive to GM professionals in Europe, and we use this research opportunity to explore these perspectives with GM professionals worldwide.
*Research team
To achieve this, Expatise Academy approached Santa Fe and Crowe to co-develop a strategic, objective survey, that reflects different industry and regional perspectives from within the Global Mobility industry.
Uniquely, the research team consisted of the Netherlands based Expatise Academy (Ernst Steltenpöhl), Crowe’s Global Mobility Workforce Advisory practice (Dino Jangra, Partner and Global Chair), together with John Rason (Santa Fe’s Consulting leader). Crowe, a global tax accounting and advisory organisation present in 150 countries, kindly agreed to host the Survey.
